What is the big deal with Disney and Barbie?

I would really like to know what is wrong with parents these days? Why in the name of all that sacred and holy are they bashing Disney and Barbie? I recently read a mom's blogging site and this woman slammed Disney and Barbie. Why?! The last time I checked Disney was one of the few brands for kids where the movies and television are actually family friendly and 99.999% free of bad language. Would this woman rather her daughter watch some of the children's movies with very scantily clan heroines and overly violence scenes, or a story with a bit of a moral to it, and a truly happy ending? As for Barbie: IT"S A DOLL YOU STUPID WOMAN! A DOLL!!! A child plays with it to use their imaginations and practice their fine motor skill by dressing and undressing it. So what if you hated dolls when you were growing up, this doesn't mean you should discourage your child from playing with them. Barbie has been bashed for 50 years as having an unrealistic body, causing little girls to grow up with a false sense of body image. GIVE ME A FRICKING BREAK! I played with these dolls my entire childhood (I make and sell clothes for them now) and I am perfectly at home with my body image. A doll does not influence body image: and overly critical, Neo-Nazi-minded, sue happy, moron of mother does. LEAVE MICKEY MOUSE AND BARBIE ALONE!!!!
