Snow- Winter's joy and curse
I love snow. I can't help it. There is just something about that pure white flaky stuff that sets my heart to soaring. I love watching it fall, pile up, and blow around; I don't even mind having to drive in it. But this frozen joy also has its drawbacks. I am talking about the other people in their cars that have no idea how to drive in the snow. On the occasion of the first significant snow last week I witnessed nearly a dozen people sliding on the side roads, highways, and parking lots. Many of these folks were teenages, who of course many never have driven in the snow, but figure that they can still go 65 on a sheet of ice. The perfect snowfall is one that starts in the early morning and continues hard and heavy for the entire day, just a curtain of white outside your window. Give me a blanket, my teddy bear, a good book, and a steaming mug of hot chocolate and life is good.
